So this is just one of those random, not wanting to go to bed, procrastinating on studying, end of the semester notes that I decided to write. It was spawned by a letter I was writing to a very amazing friend of mine and I was trying to find verses in the Bible on Friendship. I started thinking, and to me it seems I do NOT thank you all enough for being great friends (that is everybody who IS and those who are NOT tagged in this note......I could only tag so many people). I just want to say thank you to all of you. I could not be happier with the group of amazing friends I have been given by God. Recently, I have been looking back on how I was about a year ago. Never ONCE did I think I would be where I am today (anybody has any questions you can just ask Brandon or Bekah.....lol).
God obviously had other plans, and that was to pull me to Him. Through a series of fortunate as well as unfortunate happenings, I finally found what I had been missing out on and what I was searching for to fill that empty space in my life: Christ. I thought with friends, I was good. In a sense I WAS good. With friends, I was helped down a twisted past to Christ. After a few good years of searching, and with the help of a few amazing people whom I'm sure you all know and could probably guess who I am talking about, I finally found what I was looking for. This semester started off amazing with a good portion of you returning from STP and coming back to Manhattan. It also included me finding Christ and truly (as well as finally) learning what it was to have a true relationship with the Lord.
Thank you for all of your help in getting me there. Through all of the happiness, tears, pain, trouble, excitement, and joy you have stuck with me and believed in me, even though there were many times that I didn't think (or I KNEW that I would NEVER) be where I am today. God is truly amazing, as are all of you friends. I love you all SO MUCH!!!!! I am truly blessed to be surrounded by a group of so many amazing young adults who live for Christ in all that they do!!! You are all a gift from God, one that I will cherish for life.
SO where I was going with this is, as I was looking for those Bible verses, I fell upon an old hymn. It talks about the best friend of all. One that never forsakes and always forgives. One that never turns away no matter how much you vent and yell; He still loves you.
