Merry Christmas - December 17, 2008

Hello Friends!!!! I hope all of your finals are going well and that you are rockin them all!!! I can’t believe that next week is Christmas!!! It is crazy. I can’t believe I only have one semester left, I graduate in May, two of my best friends are getting married in June (technically 3 but somebody hasn’t set a date yet…… cough cough A.B. cough), and I’m going to Africa in July!!!! Should be an amazing year and I’m excited to see what Christ has in store for me. For those of you who didn’t know, and as mentioned above, I will have the chance to go to Ghana, Africa this summer for two weeks on a missions trip. I will get to go with my buddy Merrilee and I can’t wait!!!! Even though it is for such a short time, I know that God can do some absolutely amazing things in 2 weeks, let alone in 2 days. YAY!!!! Thank you to my old roommates who helped me finish all of the letters so that I could get them sent out. You have NO IDEA how much stress was taken off of my shoulders courtesy of you. God answered a prayer when I was stressing about getting everything done and out before Christmas. So once again, thank you both very much!!!

In times like this, and with the first snow, I’ve been in awe of God. I haven’t been able to wrap my mind around the fact that He is so amazingly and unbelievably creative. Every snowflake, every star, all created by Him and each one is different. Three different books each mention how He created the stars of night and named them all, how everything is beautiful and yet we can’t fathom how He has done what He has done, and SNOW!!!!! YAY!!!!

Isaiah 40:26 “Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Psalm 147:16-18 “He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes. He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast? He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.”

LOVE THEM!!!! I just wonder why we doubt so much, why we question Him, and why it is hard for us to trust Him. How can I not trust somebody who has created something so delicate, intricate, and beautiful……… things that number far too many for us to count?!?!?!?! It is crazy!!!
BUT originally this was going to be just a Christmas card for the people who I couldn’t get one out to……. lol. I got a bit off track, sorry. SO, Merry Christmas my friends!!! I hope you all have a safe break and that you enjoy the relief from the hectic schedules we all have. Love you all and have a great break, Christmas, and New Year!!!
